Statesboro High School FCCLA Club
In our ongoing support of Bulloch County Schools Student of the Month, this months honorees is the FCCLA club at Statesboro High School. They just competed in a national competition in Anaheim California where they won multiple gold and silver medals.
The FCCLA is the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. The awards were won during the week-long National Leadership Conference this summer. More than 8,700 were in attendance. 13 teams from 8 states competed in the LifeSmarts Knowledge Bowl. Through the FCCLA/LifeSmarts Knowledge Bowl competition, members participate in both online and on-site matches. The three-level team competition tests FCCLA members' knowledge in six content areas: personal finance, consumer rights and responsibilities, technology, health and safety, environment, and FCCLA knowledge. Savannah McQuaig is the Statesboro High School chapter President, and accepted the Vaden Nissan Statesboro Student of the Month Award on behalf of the chapter.
